Marina was born in Hackney, London, England, to working-class Greek parents, Despina (Yianniri), a tailor’s assistant, and John Sirtis. She was raised in Harringay, North London. Marina is a naturalized American citizen. She was married to actor and rock guitarist Michael Lamper, until his death.
