Markiplier is an American YouTuber, podcast host, filmmaker, and actor. He starred in, directed, and wrote the film Iron Lung .
He was born at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, the son of Sunok Frank, an author, and Cliffton Morris Fischbach, a U.S. Army Colonel. His parents met when his father was in the army in South Korea. His brother, Tom, is a comic artist, who created webcomic Twokinds . He was raised mostly in Cincinnati and Milford, Ohio. Marikplier is married to Amy Nelson.
Markiplier’s patrilineal line can be traced to Lorenz Fischbach, who was born, c. 1778, in Niedergirmes, Wetzlar, Lahn-Dill-Kreis, Hessen, Germany, the son of Andreas Fischbach and Anna Maria Elisabeth Maczewski.
Markiplier’s paternal grandfather was Cliffton Morris Fischbach (the son of The Rev. Basil Emmanuel Ehrhardt Fischbach and Mary Albertina Seibert). Cliffton was born in Marietta, Ohio. The Rev. Basil was born in Waverly, the son of German parents, The Rev. John William Fischbach, from Hessen, and Veronica Margaret Pretzinger. Markiplier’s great-grandmother Mary was born in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Ernest Seibert, who was German, from Frankfurt Am Main; and of Maria/Mary C. Bossardt, who was Swiss-German.
Markiplier’s paternal grandmother was Flora Marie Doom (the daughter of Elijah Doom and Ada May/Mae Stewart). Marie was born in Grand Rivers, Kentucky. Elijah was born in Missouri, the son of Felix Doom, whose mother was from Hessen, Germany. Ada was born in Livingston County, Kentucky, the daughter of James I. Stewart and Charity Carolyn Suttles.
