She is the daughter of Geraldine (Williams) and Paul Ambrosius. Her parents were born in England. She has stated :

Her brother, Marvin, is a fitness instructor and television personality. She is married to Dez Billups, with whom she has a daughter. Dez is African-American.
Marsha’s paternal grandmother was Catherine Craney (the daughter of James Joseph Craney and Catherine Ellen Wright). Marsha’s grandmother Catherine was born in Dublin, Ireland. James was born in Belfast, the son of James Joseph Craney and Mary Ann McAtaminey. Marsha’s great-grandmother Catherine was born in Dublin, the daughter of Charles William Wright and Catherine Ellen O’Byrne.
At one point, Marsha’s grandmother Catherine was married to a man with the surname Ambrosius. He is not her father’s biological father. Ambrosius is typically a German or Dutch surname. Some sources state that Marsha’s father was born in Greece, though that is not accurate.
