Martin Johnson is an English rugby union player and coach. A lock, he played for Leicester Tigers, King Country, and Barbarians, and the England national team and British & Irish Lions. He coached the England national team. He captained England to victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup, and is regarded as one of England’s greatest ever players. He is 6′7″.
Martin is the son of Hilary Cleminson and Dave Johnson. His grandfather was said to have been a wrestler.
Martin’s maternal grandfather was named Bill Cleminson (the son of William Osborne Cleminson and Ethel). Martin’s great-grandfather William was born in Darlington, Durham, England, to Cornish parents, John Cleminson and Mary Jane Osborne. Ethel was also Cornish, from St Buryan.
