Mats Hummels is a German professional footballer. A centre-back, he played for Bayern Munich II, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and Roma, and the Germany national team.
Mats was born in Bergisch Gladbach, the son of Ulla Holthoff, a sports journalist and professional water polo player, and Hermann Hummels, a professional footballer and manager. Mats’ parents are German, his father from Hamm, Nordrhein-Westfalen, and his mother from Welver, also in Nordrhein-Westfalen. His brother is professional footballer Jonas Hummels. Mats has a son with his former wife Cathy Fischer.
