He was born Matteo Andrea Borlenghi, or Matthew Andrew Borlenghi. His parents are Italian immigrants. His father was born in Milan, lived in Argentina, and moved to the U.S. at the age of nineteen. His mother was from Venice. He is married to actress Heather Borlenghi, with whom he has three children, including actress Garland Borlenghi.
Matt’s maternal grandfather was surnamed D’Altan.
