Matt LeBlanc is an American actor and comedian. Known for playing Joey Tribbiani on the shows Friends and Joey , his roles also include the series TV 101 , Just the Ten of Us , Monsters , Married… with Children , Top of the Heap , Vinnie & Bobby , Red Shoe Diaries , Episodes , Web Therapy , and Man with a Plan ; the films Grey Knight , Lookin’ Italian , Ed (1996), Lost in Space (1998), Charlie’s Angels (2000), and its sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle ; All the Queen’s Men , and Lovesick (2014); the made-for-tv movies Anything to Survive and Reform School Girl ; and the music videos for “Miracle,” “Into the Great Wide Open,” “Walk Away,” “Night Moves,” and “Say It Isn’t So.” He has been a presenter on Top Gear .
Matt is the son of Patricia (Di Cillo/DiCillo), an office manager, and Paul LeBlanc, a mechanic. He has played several Italian-American roles. His surname, Le Blanc, is French for “the white.” Matt has said :

Matt has a daughter with his former wife, British-born American model Melissa McKnight.
Matt’s paternal grandfather was Henry Joseph LeBlanc (the son of Joseph Ozime Ferdinand LeBlanc and Marie Marguerite Cormier). Henry was born in Massachusetts. Matt’s great-grandfather Joseph was the son of Ferdinand LeBlanc and Marceline Ouellet. Marie Marguerite was born in Memramcook, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Ferdinand Cormier and Celina LeBlanc.
Matt’s paternal grandmother was named Genevieve Melanson (the daughter of Dominique Melanson and Natalie). Genevieve was born in Canada.
Matt’s maternal grandparents were from Arce, Lazio.
Several internet family trees misidentify Matt’s mother as the daughter of David M. Grossman and Judith L. Bourne, who were of Russian Jewish descent. Matt’s mother’s name is Pat Grossman, but the surname Grossman is a re-marriage surname.
