Matt Ryan is an American professional football player, and executive. A quarterback, he played for the Atlanta Falcons and the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He is president of football for the Atlanta Falcons. He is nicknamed “Matty Ice.” He is 6′5″.
Matt is the son of Bernice and Michael Ryan. His uncle, John Loughery, played as a quarterback for Boston College. His first cousin is professional football player Mike McGlinchey. Matt is married to Sarah, with whom he has three children.
Matt’s maternal grandfather was Samuel Hamilton Loughery (the son of John Loughery and Elizabeth Gault). Samuel was born in Pennsylvania, to parents from Northern Ireland.
Matt’s maternal grandmother was Bernice D. McGurk (the daughter of Frank/Francis Michael McGurk and Emma May Bauer). Bernice was born in Pennsylvania. Frank was born in Pennsylvania, to Irish parents, Frank McGurk and Mary Cassidy. Emma was the daughter of Henry Felix Bauer and Emily Reed.
