Meg White is an American musician and singer. She was the drummer of Detroit rock duo The White Stripes, partnering with her then-husband Jack White .

Meg is the daughter of Catherine and Walter White.

Meg’s paternal grandfather was Walter Hackett White, Sr. (the son of Duncan White and Janet L. Skea/Skae). Walter was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Scottish parents. Janet was born in Arbroath, Angus, the daughter of David Skea and Isabella Lundie.

Meg’s paternal grandmother was Virginia E. Morse (the daughter of Howard Edgar Morse and Nellie L. Myers). Virginia was born in Detroit, Michigan. Howard was the son of Edgar Fitch Morse, who had deep roots in the U.S., and of Caroline Elizabeth Shafer/Schaffer/Schaeffer, who was the daughter of German immigrants.
