Mehmet Okur is a Turkish professional basketball player. A center and power forward, he played for Oyak Renault, Tofaş, Efes Pilsen, the Detroit Pistons, the Utah Jazz, Türk Telekom, and the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was coach of player development for the Phoenix Suns. He is nicknamed “The Money Man” and “Memo is Money.” He is 6′11″.
He is married to actress Yeliz Çalışkan, with whom he has three children. Yeliz was a Miss Turkey finalist.
