Michael Anthony is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He is the bassist of rock bands Chickenfoot and The Circle, and was previously the bassist and backing vocalist of rock band Van Halen, and a member of supergroup Planet Us. Other members of Van Halen include/have included Sammy Hagar , David Lee Roth , Alex Van Halen , Eddie Van Halen , and Wolfgang Van Halen . Hagar, Joe Satriani , and Neal Schon were also members of Planet Us.
His father played the trumpet. His family moved to Arcadia, California, during his teen years. He is married to Sue Hendry, with whom he has two children.
