Michael Bay, full name Michael Benjamin Bay, is an American film director and producer. He has directed the films Bad Boys (1995), The Rock (1996), Armageddon (1998), Pearl Harbor (2001), Bad Boys II , The Island (2005), Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen , Transformers: Dark of the Moon , Pain & Gain , Transformers: Age of Extinction , 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi , Transformers: The Last Knight , 6 Underground , and Ambulance (2022). He directed the action scenes in the film Songbird (2020).
Michael was adopted as an infant by Harriet (Markowitz), a child psychiatrist and bookstore owner, and Sheldon James “Jim” Bay, a CPA. Michael’s adoptive parents were Jewish, and he was raised Jewish and had a Bar Mitzvah ceremony.
Michael’s adoptive father’s parents were Samuel Leon Bay and Esphira Shapira-Kaplan. Samuel was born in Russia.
