Michael Damian is an American actor, singer, director, writer, and producer. He is known for his role as Danny Romalotti on soap opera The Young and the Restless . He has directed the films Hot Tamale , Moondance Alexander , Flicka 2 , Marley & Me: The Puppy Years , Flicka: Country Pride , and High Strung (2016), and the made-for-tv movies A Princess for Christmas and The Sweeter Side of Life . He also co-wrote Hot Tamale , Marley & Me: The Puppy Years , and High Strung , and both of the TV movies.
Michael is the son of Maria, a teacher and classical pianist, and Larry Weir, an architect and builder. During his younger years, he performed in the family band The Weirz. His father had Irish and French-Canadian ancestry. His mother is of Italian descent. He is married to film producer and writer Janeen Damian. His father-in-law, Janeen’s father, was actor James Best. Among his siblings is songwriter, composer, producer, promoter, and managing editor Larry Weir.
Michael’s paternal grandfather was named Patrick Weir (the son of Michael Weir). Patrick was born in County Mayo, Ireland.
Michael’s paternal grandmother was Stella Bourgeois (the daughter of Joseph Bourgeois and Georgianna/Georgia A. Tremblay/Trembley). Stella was born in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Joseph was born in Massachusetts, to parents from Canada, Joseph Bourgeois and Celina Brunelle. Georgianna was born in Québec.
