Michael is the son of Irene Lucia (Buzzetti) and William Wincott. Michael’s parents married in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, in 1952, before moving to Canada. The surname Buzzetti is common in Lombardy, Italy. He is the younger brother of actor Jeff Wincott (Jeffrey Howard Piero Wincott).
Michael’s paternal grandparents were possibly William Wincott (the son of Frederick Wincott and Margaret Annie McDeirmid) and Agnes Walker. Margaret was Scottish.
