Mike Ruiz is a Canadian photographer, television personality, director, spokesperson, model, and actor.
He was born in Montréal and raised in Repentigny, Québec. Regarding his ethnicity, he stated :
My mother is French Canadian and my father is Spanish… [My father’s] great-grandmother was from Spain, but she immigrated to the Philippines. That is where my grandfather was born and raised and then he moved to the U.S., where he married an American woman. That is where my father was conceived… We never spoke Spanish growing up. I know what I know from learning it in school and from being in Miami.

Mike’s paternal grandfather was named Juan Loy “John” Ruiz. John was born in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines.
Mike’s paternal grandmother was Marguerite Seeker/Secker Kimball (the daughter of Arthur Rockwell Kimball and Jessie Mae Lewis). Marguerite was born in Washington. Arthur was born in Utah, the son of John Heber Kimball and Frances Adalaide Hopkins. Jessie was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of Charles Milton Lewis and Nellie Mae Warner.
Mike’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Florence/Florent Picard (the son of Vitale B. Picard and Anne Bridget Toomey/Pelletier). Joseph was born in New Brunswick. Vitale was born in New Brunswick, the son of French-Canadian parents, Bruno Picard and Catherine Corneau. Anne was born in either New Brunswick, or in Maine, and is said to have been adopted, and to have been of Irish descent.
Mike’s maternal grandmother was Marie Theresa/Therese Cresence Morel (the daughter of Joseph Morel and Alma Beaulieu). Marie was born in Québec, to a French-Canadian family. Joseph was born in Québec, the son of Ignace Morel and Marie Domitillie Beaulieu. Alma was born in Québec, the daughter of Isaïe Beaulieu and Héloïse Marquis.
