Mike Schmidt is an American professional baseball player. A third baseman, he played his entire professional career for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (NLB). He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and is considered by many the best third baseman of all time.
Mike is the son of Lois and Jack Schmidt. He is married to Donna Wightman, with whom he has two children.
Mike’s paternal grandfather was Cecil Schmidt (the son of George Harold Schmidt and Dora Alice Mumford). Cecil was born in Ohio. George was the son of Joseph J. Schmidt and Anna/Annie Elizabeth Black. Dora was the daughter of John Andrew Mumford and Minnie F. Gantz.
