Mikey Madison is an American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Anora (2024). Her roles also include the films Liza, Liza, Skies Are Grey ; Nostalgia , Monster (2018), Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood , The Addams Family (2019), It Takes Three , and Scream (2022); and the series Better Things , Imposters , and Lady in the Lake .

She is the daughter of Tracy and Michael Rosberg, who are psychologists. She was partly raised in Santa Clarita, Woodland Hills, and the San Fernando Valley, in Los Angeles.

Her father is from an Ashkenazi Jewish family. Her maternal grandfather was also Ashkenazi Jewish, and her maternal grandmother had English, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, Irish, Scottish, Dutch, German, Welsh, and French ancestry.

Mikey’s paternal grandfather was Jack Rosberg (the son of Abraham “Ella” Rosberg/Wroncberg and Rachel/Rachela Ruff). Jack was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Polish Jewish parents. Abraham was born in Kraków, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, the son of Moszak Szmul Wroncberg/Rosberg and Dina Pearl Graff, who were from Opatow. Rachel was born in Zator, Oświęcim County, the daughter of Daniel Ruff and Adele Nesselrut.

Mikey’s paternal grandmother was Nechama “Naomi” Farber (the daughter of Rabbi Yosef Todros Farber and Rivka Leah Platchinski). Nechama was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. She was from a Jewish family. Yosef was born in Orla, Bielsk, Poland, the son of Shmuel Itzhak Farber and Miriam Felder. Mikey’s great-grandmother Rivka was born in Kelmė, Šiauliai, Lithuania, the daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Leib Plachinsky, who was from Vishki, Dvinsk, Latvia; and of Sara Liba Finkel. Shlomo and Sara were also both the children of Rabbis.

Mikey’s maternal grandfather was Dan Felger (the son of Louie Felger and Sadie Dorothy Pincus). Dan was born in California. Louie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a prominent surgeon. He was the son of Russian Jewish/Ukrainian Jewish parents, Soloman/Saloman Felger and Eva Bernstein. Mikey’s great-grandmother Sadie was born in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana, to a “pioneer family.” Her parents were Adolph Pincus and Hattie Lewbrowitz/Lewkowitz, were German Jewish immigrants.

Mikey’s maternal grandmother is Nellie Donivon Hailey (the daughter of John Richard Hailey, II/Jr. and Jennye Elizabeth Burleson). Nellie was born in California, to parents from Texas. John was born in Paducah, Cottle County, Texas, the son of John Richard Hailey and Ora Belle Jordan. Mikey’s great-grandmother Jennye was born in Eagle Cove, Callahan County, Texas, the daughter of Frances M. Burleson and Lottie Aldonia Hillhouse. Mikey’s grandmother Nellie was a cousin of Clarence Hailey Long, Jr., a Texas cowboy, who appeared on the cover of Life magazine in 1949, inspiring the Marlboro Man character.
