Milla Jovovich is a Soviet-born American model, actress, and musician. She has starred as Alice in the film Resident Evil (2002), and its sequels, Resident Evil: Apocalypse , Resident Evil: Extinction , Resident Evil: Afterlife , Resident Evil: Retribution , and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter . Milla was born in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union, now Ukraine. Her father, Bogic Bogdanovic Jovovic, a doctor, is Serbian or Montenegrin-Serbian. Her mother, Galina Loginova, an actress, is Russian. Milla once described herself as “Russian and Montenegrin.” Her family briefly moved to London, England, U.K., then to Sacramento, California, in the early 1980s. She became a U.S. citizen in 1994.
Milla is married to English director, writer, and producer Paul W. S. Anderson , with whom she has three children, including actress Ever Anderson . Paul has directed most of her Resident Evil movies, as well as written all of them; he has also directed several of her other films.
Milla’s paternal grandfather was named Bogdan Jovović (the son of Bogić Camić Jovović and Milica).
Milla’s maternal grandfather was named Alexander Vasilevich Loginov (the son of Vasily Loginov). Alexander was born in Kobylinsky Khutor, Plavskiy district, Tula Oblast.
Milla’s maternal grandmother was named Tatiana Ivanovna Popova (the daughter of Ivan Popov). Tatiana was born in Kobylenka village, Plavskiy district, Tula Oblast.
