Mimi is the daughter of Kathy and Philip Spickler, a civil engineer. She is married to Chris Ciaffa, with whom she has two children. Her surname is from her first husband James Rogers.
Mimi’s father, who was born in Detroit, Michigan, was Jewish. Her mother, who was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, was raised an Episcopalian.
Mimi grew up in a Scientologist environment. Her father was prominent in the Church of Scientology, and he was part of the conversion to the group of Mimi’s second husband, actor Tom Cruise .
