Miranda Cosgrove is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and host. Her roles include the series Drake & Josh and iCarly , the films School of Rock , Yours, Mine & Ours , Keeping Up with the Steins , The Wild Stallion , The Intruders (2015), 3022 , North Hollywood , and, in voice role, Khan Kluay , the Despicable Me franchise, and A Mouse Tale ; and as the host of Mission Unstoppable with Miranda Cosgrove . She is also known for her song “Kissin U.”

Miranda’s ancestry is Irish, one eighth Ashkenazi Jewish, one eighth Mexican, English, Scottish, Scots-Irish/Northern Irish, French, German [including Alsatian], Welsh, and remote Dutch and Swiss-German. Though she had initially appeared to think that she is of only “Irish, English, and French” descent, she later discovered , through a 23andMe DNA test, her Ashkenazi Jewish and Mexican ancestry.

Miranda’s paternal grandfather was Joseph Christopher Cosgrove (the son of Christopher B. Cosgrove and Elizabeth Lillian Walsh). Joseph was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, to Irish parents. Miranda’s great-grandfather Christopher was born in County Westmeath, the son of Christopher Cosgrove and Mary Boswell. Elizabeth was the daughter of Richard Cosgrove and Mary Divine.
