Mohammed Amer (محمد عامر) is a Kuwaiti-American stand-up comedian and actor. He has appeared in the films Americanish , Black Adam , and Sweet Dreams (2024), and starred on the shows Ramy and Mo , the latter of which he co-created, wrote for, and directed episodes of. He is also known as Mo, Mo Amer, and Mohammed Najjar.
Mohammed was born in Kuwait, where his father was an engineer for the Kuwait Oil Company. He attended a British school in Kuwait, learning English in a British accent. During the Gulf War in 1990-91, most of his family left for Houston, Texas, U.S., where his father was a Telecom engineer. Mohammed became a U.S. citizen in 2009. He is a Muslim. He has a son.
