Monetochka (Монеточка), Russian for “little coin,” is a Russian singer and songwriter. She is also known as Liza and Liza Moneta.
She is the daughter of Andrey Evstigneevich Girdymov, a construction worker, and Elena Alexandrovna Girdymova, who works in a travel company. She has stated that her grandmother has Belarusian roots. Monetochka resides in Vilnius, Lithuania. She is married to musician and producer Vitya Isaev/Victor Emelin, with whom she has two children.
In January 2023, the Russian Ministry of Justice included Gyrdymova in its list of “foreign agents.” In September 2024 a criminal case was opened against her for “evading the duties of a foreign agent.”
