Nap Lajoie, or Larry Lajoie, was an American professional baseball player and manager. A second baseman, he played for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Philadelphia Athletics, and the Cleveland Bronchos/Naps of Major League Baseball (MLB). He also managed the Cleveland Naps. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937, as a Cleveland player. He was nicknamed “The Frenchman.”
Nap was the son of Celina and Jean Baptiste Lajoie, who was a teamster and laborer. He was married to Myrtle Smith.
Nap’s maternal grandfather was named Pierre Guertin.
Nap’s maternal grandmother was named Angalique Pareau.
