Neil Walker is an American professional baseball player. A second baseman, he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the New York Mets, the Milwaukee Brewers, the New York Yankees, the Miami Marlins, and the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Neil is the son of Carolyn and Robert Walker. His father was a baseball pitcher in Major League Baseball. His brothers, Matt and Sean, have also played baseball. His maternal uncle, Chip Lang, is also a professional baseball player. His sister, Carrie, is a professional basketball player; she is married to professional baseball player Don Kelly. Neil is married to Niki, with whom he has a daughter.
Neil’s paternal grandfather was Robert Terry Walker (the son of Robert E. Lee Walker and Luanna Adell “Anna” Baggett). Neil’s great-grandfather Robert was the son of Thomas Jefferson Walker and Serena Catherine Raley. Luanna was the daughter of Ausborne James Baggett and Deborah Ann Hancock.
Neil’s paternal grandmother was Mary Etta McGowan (the daughter of William Augustus McGowan and Lillie Velma Martin). William was the son of Thomas Ezekiel McGowan and Pauline Thrash.
Neil’s maternal grandfather is Robert L. Lang (the son of George Lang and Mary Ferris). Robert was born in Pennsylvania.
Neil’s maternal grandmother was Elizabeth M. Mock (the daughter of Herman J. Mock and Mary Emma Reinhart). Herman was born in Pennsylvania, to German parents, Jacob Mock and Elizabeth.
