Nicholas Brendon was an American actor and writer. He starred as Xander Harris on the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer , and in related video games. His roles also included the shows Kitchen Confidential , American Dragon: Jake Long , Criminal Minds , Private Practice , Faking It , and Dark/Web ; the made-for-tv movies Celeste in the City , Relative Chaos , and Fire Serpent ; and the films Psycho Beach Party , Demon Island , Unholy (2007), Blood on the Highway , A Golden Christmas , Big Gay Love , and Coherence (2013).

Nicholas was the son of Kathleen and Robert Schultz.

Nicholas’ paternal grandfather was named Don Schultz.

Nicholas’ maternal grandfather was Robert Sturges Perrine (the son of Leslie Franklin Perrine and Margaret Humphry Sturges). Robert was born in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. Leslie was born in Valparaiso, Porter, Indiana, the son of John Baker Perrine, whose father was born in Devonshire, England; and of Mary Ellen Currier, whose father was Canadian.
