He is married to actress and model Tika Sumpter , with whom he has one child.
Nicholas’ paternal grandfather was David J. Muscarella (the son of Giuseppe “Joseph” Muscarella and Maria/Mary DiLeonardo). David was born in Farrell, Pennsylvania, to Italian Sicilian parents, who were born in Cerda and Campofelice di Roccella, respectively, both in Palermo.
Nicholas’ paternal grandmother was named Emerencia/Emercia/Amerensa “Mert” Zarecky (the daughter of Isadore/Izadore/Isidor Zarecky and Josephine). Emerencia was born in Pennsylvania, to Slovak parents.
