Nichole’s paternal grandfather was Arthur Edwin Hiltz (the son of Phillip Grant Hiltz and Maria Adelia Tierney). Arthur was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Phillip was the son of Canadian parents, from Sackville, Nova Scotia, Thomas Scott Hiltz and Theresa Finerty. Nichole’s great-grandmother Maria was the daughter of Irish emigrants, Patrick Tierney, who was from Hollymount, County Mayo; and Nora Hurney.
Nichole’s paternal grandmother was Juanita Blanche Schievink (the daughter of Johannes Schievink and Gertrude Mildred Hawley). Juanita was born in Nova Scotia, Canada. Johannes was a Dutch emigrant, from Harlingen, Friesland, the son of Ybele Harmens Schievink and Yttje Harmens van Akker. Nichole’s great-grandmother Gertrude was the daughter of Alexander Hawley and Annie Russell.
Nichole’s maternal grandfather was William Terrance McSweeney (the son of John Joseph McSweeney and Marian “Mary” Dillon). William was born in Boston, Massachusetts. John was an Irish immigrant, the son of John McSweeney and Catherine Mahoney. Marian was the daughter of Irish parents, John J. Dillon/Dillane, from Spiddal, County Galway; and Katherine M. Gallivan, from County Limerick.
Nichole’s maternal grandmother was Evelyn Mae Shannon (the daughter of John Joseph Shannon and Evelyn Mae Redmond). Nichole’s grandmother Evelyn was born in Massachusetts. John was the son of Richard Henry Shannon and Emily Frances McGrath, who were born in the U.S., both of them to Irish immigrants. Nichole’s great-grandmother Evelyn was the daughter of Martin Joseph Redmond II, who was Canadian; and of Josephine Elenor “Ellen” Williamson, whose parents were Irish.
