Nick Broomfield is a British documentary film director. He is known for his self-reflective style. He has directed the documentary films Juvenile Liaison , Gosling’s Travels: Whittingham , Gosling’s Travels: Fort Augustus , Soldier Girls , Chicken Ranch , both of which he co-directed; Juvenile Liaison 2 , The Leader, His Driver and the Driver’s Wife ; Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer , Monster in a Box , Tracking Down Maggie , Heidi Fleiss: Hollywood Madam , Fetishes , Kurt & Courtney , Biggie & Tupac , Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer , which he co-directed; His Big White Self , Ghosts (2006), Battle for Haditha , Sarah Palin: You Betcha! , which he co-directed; Tales of the Grim Sleeper , Whitney: Can I Be Me , which he co-directed; and Marianne & Leonard: Words of Love . He also wrote Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer , Fetishes , Kurt & Courtney , Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer , Tales of the Grim Sleeper , and Whitney: Can I Be Me , and co-wrote Ghosts and Battle for Haditha . He has often worked with his former wife Joan Churchill. He also directed and co-wrote the feature film Diamond Skulls .

Nick is the son of Anitta Sonja Lagusova and Maurice Broomfield (Maurice William Broomfield), a photographer, known for his photographs of post-WWII Britain. His father was a Quaker. His mother was Jewish, with roots in the Czech Republic. Nick has two children.

Nick’s paternal grandfather was named William Broomfield. William was from Derbyshire, England.
