Nick Suzuki is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A centre, he plays for, and is captain of, the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL); and is with the Canada national team. He is nicknamed “Slick Nick.”
He is the son of Amanda and Rob Suzuki. His brother is professional ice hockey player Ryan Suzuki. As a great-great-grandchild of Japanese immigrants, he is considered Gosei . His childhood neighbor, Isaac Ratcliffe, also plays in the NHL. Nick is married to Caitlin Fitzgerald, with whom he has a daughter.
He is a first cousin, twice removed, of academic, science broadcaster, and environmental activist David Suzuki.
