Nicklas Bäckström is a Swedish professional ice hockey player. A centre, he plays for Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He was previously with the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL) and Dynamo Moscow.
Nicklas is the son of Catrin (Larsdr) and Anders Backstrom. His mother was born in Finland. He is married to Liza Berg, with whom he has three children.
