Nicolas Jaar is an American composer and recording artist. He is based in New York City. He is also known as Against All Logic, A.A.L., and Nico.
His father, Alfredo Jaar, is a famous Chilean artist, architect, and filmmaker born in Santiago, Chile, of Palestinian ancestry. His family comes from Bethlehem, and immigrated to Chile in the 1920s. Nicolas’s mother, Evelyne Meynard, is Chilean, of French and Spanish ancestry.
Nicolas’s paternal grandmother was named Miriam Hasbún.
Nicolas’s maternal grandmother was named Graciela Salinas. Graciela was from Temuco, in southern Chile.
