Nipsey Hussle, also known as Nipsey Hu$$le and Ermias Joseph Asghedom, was an American rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, and community activist.
His father, Dawit Asghedom, was Eritrean, and left the country during the Eritrean War of Independence. His mother, Angelique Kathleen (Boutte), was a black American, of African-American and Louisiana Creole background. He visited Eritrea with his family.
He had two children, including a son with his partner, actress and model Lauren London .
Nipsey had said :

Nipsey’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Leo Boutte, Jr. (the son of Joseph Leo Boutte, Sr. and Myrtle Emily Moret). Nipsey’s great-grandfather Joseph was the son of Joseph Benjamin Boutte and Edna/Etna Marie Porche. Myrtle was the daughter of Walter Henry Moret and Edna Lucille Bercy.
Nipsey’s maternal grandmother was Margaret Mary Green (the daughter of John Wesley Green and Augustine E. Williams). John was the son of Richmond C. Green and Martha Young. Augustine was the daughter of Adolph T. Williams and Selena B. Parrish.
