Olivia Rodrigo is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her songs “Drivers License,” “Deja Vu,” “Good 4 U,” “Traitor,” “Brutal,” “Vampire,” and “Bad Idea Right?” She has starred in the film An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success , on the shows Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series , and in the documentaries Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U and Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour .
Olivia is the daughter of Jennifer, a school teacher, and Chris Rodrigo, a family therapist. An article in the Huffington Post stated , “Olivia’s father is Filipino, her mother is Western European descent, mostly Irish and German.” Her father is of three quarters Filipino ancestry. Her other roots are English, Irish, German, and small amounts of Austrian and Polish. She was raised in Temecula, California.

My great-grandfather immigrated here from the Philippines when he was just a teenager. He’s my grandma’s dad, and my grandpa is also Filipino as well. My dad grew up in a house where they were always making Filipino food, his grandpa always spoke Tagalog.

Olivia’s paternal grandfather was named Bonifacio P. Rodrigo (the son of Bonifacio Rosas Rodrigo). Olivia’s grandfather Bonifacio was born in California, of Filipino origin. Olivia’s great-grandfather Bonifacio was born in San Fernando, Cebu, Philippines, the son of Vicente Rodrigo and Emerenciana Rosas.
Olivia’s paternal grandmother was Margaret Jean “Peggy” Cristobal (the daughter of Lauriano “Larry” Ramos Cristobal and Pauline Cantrell). Peggy was born in California. A picture of Peggy can be seen here . Lauriano was born in Laoag, Phillipines, the son of Telesforo Cristobal and Francia Ramos. Olivia’s great-grandmother Pauline was a white American, and was the daughter of William Gabriel Richard “Willie” Cantrell and Gladys Pearl Weaver.
Olivia’s maternal grandfather was Patrick Harold Fox (the son of Harold Francis Fox and Mary Jane Egan). Olivia’s great-grandfather Harold was the son of Frank Charles Fox, whose grandparents were all German; and of Rose Jane Byrne, whose grandparents were all Irish. Olivia’s great-grandmother Mary Jane was the daughter of Edward James Egan, who was of Irish descent; and of Dorothy Loretta Loewen, whose own parents were from Poznań, Poland. Dorothy was of German and Polish descent, with some roots in Gdańsk.
Olivia’s maternal grandmother was Lynn Marie Krug (the daughter of Daniel James Krug and Anna May Freismuth). Daniel was of German descent, and was the son of Walter Henry Krug and Eleanora Elizabeth Guelig. Olivia’s great-grandmother Anna was the daughter of a Hungarian emigrant, Márton/Martin Freismuth, of Oka, Sopron, now part of Győr-Moson-Sopron; and of Anna Margaretha Guldan, whose parents were Austrian and German, respectively.
Olivia’s matrilineal ancestry can be traced back to her eighth great-grandmother, Margaretha Rehlinger.
