Paolo Maldini is an Italian professional footballer. A left-back and centre-back, he played for AC Milan, and the Italy national team. He is regarded as one of the greatest ever defenders and greatest players of all time.
Paolo is the son of Marisa Mazzucchelli and Cesare Maldini, who is a professional footballer and coach. His father was born in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy, and is usually said to have Slovenian ancestry. The surname Maldini was allegedly Italicized from Maldič/Mladič. Marisa was born in Lombardy, Italy.
Paolo is married to Venezuelan model Adriana Fossa. Adriana’s father is Italian. The couple has two children, professional footballers Christian Maldini and Daniel Maldini.
Paolo’s paternal grandfather was named Albino Maldini (the son of Giuseppe Maldini).
