Pat Ryan is an American politician, businessperson, and U.S. Army intelligence officer. A member of the Democratic Party, he has been a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York, since September 13, 2022. He was previously County Executive of Ulster County, from June 7, 2019 to September 9, 2022.
Pat is the son of Patricia, a public school teacher, and Kevin Ryan, who owned a small business. One of his grandfathers was on the Kingston City Council. He is married to Rebecca Grusky, with whom he has two children.
Pat’s paternal grandfather was William Joseph Ryan (the son of William Dennis Ryan and Alice Matthews). Pat’s grandfather William was born in Kingston, Ulster, New York. Pat’s great-grandfather William was the son of William Ryan and Phoebe A. Carroll, whose parents were Irish, with her father having been from Killenaule, County Tipperary.
