Paul Blair was an American professional baseball player, and coach. A center fielder, he played for the Baltimore Orioles, the New York Yankees, and the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). With eight Gold Gloves, he was highly regarded as one of the greatest defensive centerfielders.
Paul was the son of Zephra Primas and Paul L. D. Blair. He was raised in Los Angeles, California. He was married to Gloria. His son, Paul Blair III, played in the minor leagues.
Paul’s paternal grandfather was L. D. Blair (the son of Arthur Blair and Mattie Halsey). Mattie was the daughter of Charles Halsey and Margaret Williams.
