Paul is the son of actors Irène Jacob and Jérôme Kircher. His uncle, Francis Jacob, is a musician, and his other two maternal uncles are scientists. His father evidently has roots in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Grand Est. His mother’s family moved from France to Geneva, Switzerland, when his mother was three. His brother is actor Samuel Kircher .
Paul’s maternal grandfather was named Maurice Jacob (Maurice René Michel Jacob, the son of Maurice Jacob). Paul’s grandfather Maurice was born in 4th arrondissement of Lyon, and was a theoretical particle physicist. Paul’s great-grandfather Maurice was born in Izieux, Saint Chamond, and was a scientist and professor.
