Paul Krugman is an American economist and writer. He is a columnist for The New York Times. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2008.
Paul is the son of Anita and David Krugman. His paternal grandparents moved to the U.S. in 1920. His maternal grandparents emigrated to the U.S. in 1914. Paul was partly raised in Utica, in upstate New York, and then in Merrick, Nassau County, Long Island. He is married to academic economist Robin Wells. The two have co-written economic texts. Paul has said that he is a distant relative of commentator and journalist David Frum.
