Paul Wesley, also billed as Paul Wasilewski, is an American actor, director, and producer. He is known for starring on the show The Vampire Diaries , which he also directed episodes of. His roles include the series Another World , Guiding Light , Wolf Lake , American Dreams , 8 Simple Rules , Everwood , Cane , Army Wives , 24 , Tell Me a Story , and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds ; the films Roll Bounce , Cloud 9 , Peaceful Warrior , Killer Movie , Elsewhere (2009), Beneath the Blue , The Baytown Outlaws , Before I Disappear , Amira & Sam , Mothers and Daughters (2016), The Late Bloomer , and He Bled Neon ; the mini-series Fallen (2006) and Flowers in the Attic: The Origin ; and the made-for-tv movies Shot in the Heart , Young Arthur , and The Russell Girl .

Paul’s maternal grandfather was Sławomir Smoleński (the son of Henryk Smoleński and Aniela Krzywkowski). Sławomir was born in Ciechanów, and was an economist, geographer, editor, and administrator. Aniela was the daughter of Błażej Krzywkowski, a politician, who owned the Sokołowo estate in Ciechanów County, was a member of the Legislative Sejm, from 1919 to 1922, and was a senator of the Republic of Poland, from 1922 to 1926.
Paul’s maternal grandmother is named Halina.
