Rae Morris is a British singer, songwriter, composer, and pianist. She has released the albums “Unguarded,” which made it into the Top 10 of the UK Album Chart; “Someone Out There,” and “Rachel@Fairyland.”

Rae is married to pop musician Fryars (Benjamin Garrett), her frequent collaborator. The couple has two children. Her brother, William, is married to singer and songwriter Lucy Rose.

Rae’s paternal grandfather was named Raymond Morris.

Rae’s paternal grandmother was named Betty Freeman.

Rae’s maternal grandfather was Sydney Gregg (the son of Sydney Gregg and Edith Harper). Sydney was born in Gateshead, Durham. His father was born in Hexham, Northumberland, and was of part Scottish descent. Edith was born in Newcastle.

Rae’s maternal grandmother was Ann Purcell (the daughter of Richard Gregory Purcell and Mabel McCourt). Ann was born in Newcastle. Richard was born in Gosforth, Northumberland, to an Irish father from Kilkenny; and to an English mother. Rae’s great-grandmother Mabel was born in South Shields, Northumberland, to a Northern Irish father, from County Tyrone; and to an English mother.

She has stated :

My great-grandmother was from Dublin and great-grandfather from Belfast. My grandmother’s maiden name was Purcell which I believe has connections in Ireland. My mum was brought up Catholic and I went to a Church of England school but the family are not religious.
