His parents are Pakistani. His father was involved in textiles trade. He was partly raised in Kenya, Botswana, Tanzania, and Pakistan. He moved to the U.S. around 2000 for college, living in Portland, Oregon, and later in Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California. Usman has two children.
