Reid Ewing is an American actor and musician. His roles include the films Fright Night (2011), Crush (2013), 10 Rules for Sleeping Around , and Mall , the shows Modern Family , Zeke and Luther , and Good Luck Charlie , the made-for-tv movie The Truth Below , and the social film The Power Inside .
He was raised in Broward County, Florida.
Reid’s paternal grandfather was Reid Harris Ewing (the son of Mark Clayton Ewing and Sarah “Sadie” Reed). Reid was born in Wisconsin, and was a chemical engineer on the Manhattan Project. Mark was born in Ohio, the son of Harrison Jones Ewing and Sarah Miranda Patterson. Sarah was born in Wisconsin, the daughter of George D. Reed and Edna Alberta “Bertie” Kingsbury.
Reid’s paternal grandmother was Margaret Ruth Harris (the daughter of Benjamin Lawrence Harris and Florence Steefel). Margaret was born in New York. Benjamin as born in New York, to Jewish parents from Wladislawow, Lithuania, Myer Harris/Tumpowsky and Esther Raminsky. Florence was born in New York, the daughter of Julius Stiefel, whose parents were German Jews, and of Caroline Brunswick, whose parents were also German Jews.
