Ricardo Darín is an Argentinian actor, writer, and director. He is one of the biggest movie stars in Argentina. He starred in the Academy Award-winning film The Secret in Their Eyes (2009).
Ricardo is the son of actors Ricardo Darín, Sr. and Roxana Darín (born Renée Roxanna/Roxana). His father has Italian ancestry. His maternal grandparents, originally surnamed Rohuana, emigrated from Lebanon to Buenos Aires because of WWI. Ricardo’s sister, Alejandra Darín, is also an actress. With his wife, Florencia Bas, he has two children, including actor Chino Darín.
Ricardo’s patrilineal line can be traced back to his great-great-grandfather, Francesco Antonio Darin, who was born in Piniè, near Vigo di Cadore, Province of Belluno, Veneto, Italy, and immigrated to Brazil and later Argentina.
Ricardo’s paternal great-grandfather was named Andrea Darin.
