Rick Barry is an American professional basketball player, and coach. A small forward, he played for the San Francisco Warriors, the Oakland Oaks/Washington Caps, the New York Nets, the Golden State Warriors, and the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He coached the Cedar Rapids Sharpshooters, the Fort Wayne Fury, the New Jersey ShoreCats, and the Florida Sea Dragons. He is regarded as one of the greatest basketball players, and was listed on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team. He was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1987. He is 6′7″.
Rick is the son of Alpha and Richard Francis Barry, Jr. He was raised in Roselle Park, NJ. Rick is married to Lynn Norenberg Barry, who was an assistant executive director of USA women’s basketball, and an advisor to the WNBA. He has five children, including professional basketball players and broadcasters Scooter Barry, Jon Barry, Brent Barry, and Drew Barry, with his former wife Pam; and a son, professional basketball player Canyon Barry, with Lynn.
