Rico J. Puno was a Filipino singer, television host, actor, comedian, and politician. He was a pioneer and promoter of original Filipino music. He was a Councilor of Makati from the 1st District, from June 30, 1998 to June 30, 2007, and again, from June 30, 2016 to October 30, 2018, his death.
Rico was the son of Corazon Reyes de Jesus and Felipe Guezon Tayag. He was married to Doris P. Tayag, with whom he had five children.
Rico’s paternal grandfather was named Rústico Puno.
Rico’s paternal grandmother was named María Guezon. The surname Guezon is of possibly Chinese origin. However, it is not clear if this ancestry has been verified/documented.
Rico’s maternal grandfather was named Benjamín de Jesús. Benjamín was a native of Tondo, Manila.
