Ringo Starr is an English singer, songwriter, drummer, and actor. He was a member of rock band The Beatles, along with George Harrison , John Lennon , and Paul McCartney . Ringo was the drummer for the band, and occasionally sang lead vocals and wrote songs. He has also been a member of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes; rock band Plastic Ono Band, with Eric Clapton , Harrison, Lennon, Keith Moon , and Yoko Ono ; and rock supergroup Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, with Colin Hay , Greg Lake , Steve Lukather , and Joe Walsh .
Ringo is the son of Elsie (Gleave) and Richard Starkey, who were confectioners. He is married to American actress and model Barbara Bach . He has three children, including rock drummer Zak Starkey, with his former wife, late hairdresser Maureen Starkey Tigrett . Zak toured and recorded with the Who. His stepdaughter, Barbara’s daughter, is Italian-American screenwriter and film director Francesca Gregorini .
