Riyad Mahrez is an Algerian professional footballer. A right winger, he plays for Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli and plays for and captains the Algeria national team. He was previously with Quimper, Le Havre II, Le Havre, Leicester City, and Manchester City.
He is the son of Halima Mahrez and Ahmed Mahrez. His father was from Beni Snous, a Berber village in the Wilaya of Tlemcen, in western Algeria, and played football in Algeria. His mother is from the Wilaya of Tlemcen, and is of Algerian and Moroccan descent.
Riyad has two children with his former wife Rita Johal, who is from England; and a daughter with his fiancée, English model Taylor Ward. He is a practising Muslim.
