Robbie Keane is an Irish professional footballer, and coach. A striker, he played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Coventry City, Inter Milan, Leeds United, Tottenham Hotspur, which he captained; Liverpool, Celtic, West Ham United, LA Galaxy, which he also captained; Aston Villa, and ATK, which he also captained; and played for and captained the Republic of Ireland national team. He manages Ferencváros. He was previously player-manager of ATK; assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland national team, Middlesbrough, and Leeds United, and manager of Maccabi Tel Aviv. He is known as one of the greatest Irish footballers of all time.
Robbie is the son of Anne and Robert “Robbie” Keane. He is a first cousin of professional footballer Jason Byrne. He is also a second cousin of singer Morrissey . Robbie’s grandfather, Thomas Nolan, was Morrissey’s father’s cousin.
Robbie is married to television presenter and Miss Ireland contestant Claudine Palmer, with whom he has two children, one of whom is also a footballer.
Robbie is not related to Irish football legend Roy Keane.
