Robert Gsellman is an American professional baseball player. A pitcher, he played for the New York Mets and the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB), and for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).
Robert is the son of Trisha and Bob Gsellman. His father was a minor league catcher, who was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the 1984 MLB Draft from Culver City High School.
Robert’s paternal grandfather was Robert Richard Gsellman (the son of George Ric Gsellman and Nora Bell Sherrow). Robert’s grandfather Robert was born in Ohio. Nora was the daughter of Army Scott Sherrow and Callie Mae Williams.
Robert’s paternal grandmother is Sandra Lee Unsworth (the daughter of Walter J. Unsworth and Lucille Paloutzian). Walter was the son of Arthur Samuel Unsworth and Lillian Martha Carrington. Lucille was the daughter of Armenian parents, Manoug Paloutzian, who was born in Turkey, and Mary Parvanian.
