A member of the Coppola family, she is the daughter of filmmaker and actress Sofia Coppola and musician Thomas Mars (born Thomas Pablo Croquet). Her father is French, from Versailles. Her mother is American, from New York.
Her maternal uncle is filmmaker Roman Coppola. Through her father, she is a cousin, once removed, of theatre director Daniel Karasek, writer and journalist Manuel Karasek, and lawyer, television presenter, and author Laura Karasek. Through her mother, she is a first cousin, once removed, of actors Nicolas Cage , Jason Schwartzman , and Robert Schwartzman . She is a great-niece of journalist, literary critic, novelist, and author Hellmuth Karasek, academic and author August Coppola, and actress Talia Shire . Her great-great-uncle was opera conductor and composer Anton Coppola.
